Horse Camps

2010 Schedule

All saddled up and ready to goWe are offering 2 varieties of Horse Camps this summer; an Adventure Camp with two day rides, and an all week beginners Horse Camp.

We are fortunate to have the Fort Valley stable located less than a mile from camp. The staff there provide guides, instruction and helmets for all riders to wear.

All you need to bring is a willingness to get up on the horse (a pair of long pants and solid shoes help, too!).

Because the stable is so close to camp, Horse campers also get to participate in a variety of camp activities, including worship, lake time, night recreation, campfires and a lot more. They will sleep in Sukkahs with thier same sex counselor and each day they will work together with the Love to Serve Bible study curriculum.

Adventure with Horse

June 20-25

heading out

This camp offers middle school campers with adventures off camp while still enjoying the activities on camp. Adventure Camp stays in the Sukkah Village and travels off-site to the stable to enjoy two days of trail rides on the beautiful Massnutten Mountain.

Horse Camp

July 11-16

rounding the barrelThis camp spends each morning at the stable learning to care for, saddle and ride (western-style) a horse. One horse will be assigned to you for the duration of the week so you can get to know the unique qualities of your horse and the horses of your fellow campers.

You will have the opportunity to work in the horse ring and practice controlling your horse using your voice, reins and legs.

Horse campers will return to camp most afternoons to enjoy time to share Bible study, water activities, crafts, night games, worship and other camp fun.
