Horse Camps

2008 Schedule

riding

We are offering 3 varieties of Horse Camps this summer; a one day ride along, an all week beginners Horse Camp and an all week Advanced Horse Camp.

We are fortunate to have the Fort Valley stable located less than a mile from camp. The staff there provide guides, instruction and helmets for all riders to wear.

All you need to bring is a willingness to get up on the horse (a pair of long pants and solid shoes help, too!).

Because the stable is so close to camp, Horse campers also get to participate in a variety of camp activities, including worship, lake time, night recreation, campfires and a lot more. They will sleep in Sukkahs with thier same sex counselor and each day they will work together with the Listen! God is Calling Bible study curriculum.

Adventure with Horse

June 15-20 & Aug 3-8
entering Grades 7-9
cost $385

queing up for the rideThis camp offers middle school campers with adventures off camp while still enjoying the activities on camp. Adventure Camp stays in the Sukkah Village and travels off-site to canoe all day on the beautiful Shenandoah River and another day to ride trails on the Massanutten mountain on hiking
horseback.

Horse Camp

June 29-July 4
entering Grades 7-12
cost $450

This camp spends each morning at the stable learning to care for, saddle and ride (western-style) a horse. One horse will be assigned to you for the duration of the week so you can get to know the unique qualities of your horse and the horses of your fellow campers. You will be back at camp most afternoons to enjoy some of the other great activities available.

Advanced Horse Camp

July 13-18
entering 8-12
cost $450

If you have been to one of our other horse camps and feel ready to try something new, Advanced Horse Camp is calling. Learn how to control your horse from the saddle, practice manuvering around barrels and following group games. Along with a trail ride, there's a rodeo at the end of this camp.
