Everyone wears a PFD

Wish List: The CFLC wish list is a way for you to help the camp maintain its infrastructure or enhance our program with the items that we just don’t have the budget for. You can get a group together, hold a fundraiser, or purchase the item directly. Here are some of the things we could really use around the camp:
- WE HAVE A SPECIAL NEED - Our summer chaplain this year is in a wheelchair. In order to get her around camp we are looking for a new or used golf cart.
- Medium/light duty ARC welder. From broken chairs to tractor implements to canoe trailers, the gear at CFLC takes a pounding. Many times all that is needed is a simple weld to put an item back into service. Thank you Mr. Frank Funkhouse for fulfilling this wish!
- Personal Flotation Devices (PFD’s). All campers and staff are required to wear PFD’s while on the water. Our current inventory of PFD’s is starting to show their age and we’d like to begin replacing them…won’t you help?
- New lodge furniture. As the lodge remodel continues and the Upper Room becomes a reality, we’d like to replace the furniture in the Fireside Room to create a warm intimate space to relax around the fireplace. Matching sofas and chairs for this room will really enhance the lodge “feel”.
- Each year, our canoes take a beating on the rocks of the Shenandoah River. We had to retire one canoe from service last fall. Won't you help us replace it? A replacement canoe will cost about $300.00 Thank you Reformation Culpeper for fulfilling this wish!
- A used pick up truck to help with all the various jobs around camp from moving firewood to hauling canoes.
- Sponsor a counselor for the summer. The camp spends about $2500.00 in salary, food, and insurance for each counselor we employ. These wonderful young people are changed by their experience at camp and many go on to seminary and or lay positions in the church. Won’t you help us help them? Individually or as a church, your sponsorship will make a huge difference in a young person’s life.
- Sponsor a camper... one you know, or one you don't. A week of summer camp provides a child with laughter, friendships and the opportunity to experience God outdoors, in a Christian community. A week of camp costs about $375.
