Wear Love
Summer 2026 Theme
This summer, we’re inviting campers to Wear Love,
to live out the kind of love described in Colossians 3:12–14.
Like a favorite piece of clothing, love is something we put on every day through compassion, kindness, humility, and forgiveness. Throughout the week, campers will explore what it means to wear love at camp, at home, and in the world, discovering how God’s love shapes who we are and how we care for others.
New for Summer 2026
Programs

Our age groups and names remain the same: Explorers, Voyagers, Pathfinders, and Mountaineers offer targeted experiences for every camper age. Shenandoah River Camp returns in June as its own camp session for middle and high school. We are introducing Land Exploration to provide a larger variety of options to explore the ecology surrounding our fauna and forests. Family Camp is now offered Wednesday to Saturday to provide specific quality programming and lower barriers for working parents.

Introducing Tiered Pricing

As part of our efforts for equity and inclusion, we are excited to introduce tiered pricing for summer camp. This new pricing structure is designed to lower barriers to attendance by allowing participants to choose our standard rate or one of our tiers with a lower price. We never want finances to be the reason anyone does not attend. Our new tiered pricing structure, in addition to available scholarships for campers, are a concrete action step we are taking to increase inclusion and access for all families. For the first time in decades, we have a large source of scholarship funds and we truly want those who would benefit from them to please apply.

We have a place for everyone around the campfire!

All are welcome here. You are welcome here.

At Caroline Furnace we strive to provide community members a place to experience sacred community in creation. Sometimes we call this land “a place apart” because of the peaks and valleys that surround us. Maybe it is the remote location, the vast ecosystem, and the National Forest that surrounds our property. It seems easy to find inner peace listening to sounds of the flowing creek, walking the miles of trails, or sitting silently around one of our many campfire circles. Yes, we are a place that is apart from our busy lives where we can get in touch with the sacred feeling that soothes our soul.

We celebrate, affirm, and value the diversity present in our communities: diversity of ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, faith, belief, ability, age, identity, and any other classification. Sincerely we say, “All are welcome.” YOU are welcome here.

Summer Camp is a place that supports new experiences, close friendships, limitless fun, and faith made tangible. Campers engage in daily worship and Bible study, plus a wide range of activities. They’ll get to swim, canoe, fish, creekwalk, play group games, hike, cook over a campfire, create crafts, and so much more! Each week, volunteer chaplains from nearby Lutheran congregations join us in supporting faith development.
